Salomon Speedcross 6 GTX
Lightweight trail runners with Gore-Tex waterproofing and aggressive Contagrip lugs — ideal for muddy tracks and wet conditions on family trail runs and day hikes.
4/5 — Our Rating
Why We Recommend It
We used these for fast, wet trails where the kids wanted to run. The grip on mud and grass was excellent, and the Quicklace system meant no stopping to retie when little feet were in a hurry. Gore-Tex kept feet dry through puddles and morning dew.
What We Liked
- Excellent traction on mud and soft terrain; chevron lugs shed mud well
- Secure fit with Sensifit and Quicklace; no pressure hot spots
- Lightweight and agile; great for trail running with kids
- Gore-Tex waterproofing for puddles and wet grass
- True to size for most
What Could Be Better
- Narrow fit; tight toe box — consider half size up for wide feet
- Can be slippery on wet rock and moss
- Firm ride on hard surfaces; warm upper in summer
