Wānaka: Day 25 — Playgrounds, Lake Views, and Lakeside Calm
After the days around Mount Cook, we continued to Wānaka.
The town sits right on Lake Wānaka and is often described as a quieter alternative to Queenstown.
Walk Along the Lake
The lakeside promenade is well suited for a walk. Many people sit along the shore, stroll by the water, or spend time at the cafés around the lake.
The view of the mountains surrounding the lake is one of the most beautiful in the region.
Playgrounds in Wānaka
Wānaka has several excellent playgrounds.
The Wānaka Dinosaur Playground is particularly popular with children. Large wooden structures, slides, and plenty of space to climb make it a favourite spot for families.
Roys Bay
The area around Roys Bay is ideal for a relaxed afternoon by the water. From here you have an unobstructed view across the lake.
